How Do Envelopments© Work?
What are Envelopments?
Envelopments are a range of pre assembled invitation outers, blank card, paper and envelopes, that are designed to fit into and onto each other. You simply cut cards to size and layer them on top of each other.
Below is an example of what can be achieved using the Envelopments product range.

The Science Bit ... ...
The above image is an example of a Pocket Fold invitation. This pocketfold invitation is just one of the many styles of invitations that Envelopments supply, to see more example of invitations see our Ideas and Inspiration section and our Shapes and Sizes section. If we look at the purple invitation, it is made from 6 components:
(Ruler and Glue also required, laster printer recommended, some card types not suitable for inkjet printers)
1. Pocket Fold (the invitation outer)
2. A backing layer of card stock
3. Card with invitation wording printed on it.
4. Envelope for RSVP.
5. Card with RSVP wording printed on it.
6. Card with Directions printed on it.
A Little More Information ...
1. Pocket Fold (the invitation outer). This is available in a range of sizes, orientations and finishes. It is supplied fully assembled, you just need to stick the layers on, put something in the pocket and pop it in an envelope. In this example the size used is 4x5 (envelopments use descriptive sizes for their invitation products, for example a 4x5 inch invitation will fit into a 4x5 envelope and a 4x5 envelope line can be placed onto the envelope, but the exact dimensions of each porduct is different). There are many other sizes, its a matter of personal choice.
2. A backing layer of card stock.
This is a optional layer, you can also choose to leave it out or use more than one backing layer, the choice is up to you. As the Pocket fold is a 4x5 size, then a 4x5 sized backing layer can be glued to the Pocketfold. (You can purchase a larger piece of card and cut 2 layers from it, but we recommend using the pre cut card for the first backing layer as you do not have to do anyting to it and its perfectly straight.) If you want to use more than 1 backing layer then you will need to trim down the second backing layer by at least 1/8" (in this instance as you are having to trim the card it may be cheeper to buy a larger 8.5x11 sheet and get multiple cards from it).
3. Card with invitation wording printed on it. Just as the Pocketfold was as 4x5 size and the backing layer was a 4x5 card then this layer is also 4x5 but you will need to trim down all 4 sides. The trim amount is up to you, you might like to see a lot of the backing layer and trim 1/2" off , or you might like to see only a small amount of the backing layer and trim 1/8" off. As this layer is being printed we recommend printing it on a 8.5x11 sized piece of card. You will fit 2 invitations on each piece of card, therefore reducing costs. (see our resources section for blank templates)
4. Envelope for RSVP. This is a 3.5x5 sized envelope that will fit nicely into the pocket of the Pocketfold Invitation. It is supplied pre assembled
5. Card with RSVP wording printed on it. Just like the invitation is printed on a larger sheet of card so to is the RSVP card, you will fit 4 RSVP cards onto one 8.5x11 sheet. (see our resources section for blank templates)
6. Card with Directions printed on it. Again this can be printed on a larger sheet of card, you will fit 4 cards onto one 8.5x11 sheet. You will also need to trim down the bottom of the directions card so that it does not block the RSVP card. (see our resources section for blank templates)
